WE ARE FOOTBALL 2027 Spectator Mode: Start Without a Club and Watch the World

Not every save has to begin with a job. Spectator mode — Zuschauermodus on the start screen — drops you into WE ARE FOOTBALL 2027 as an unemployed manager: no club, no contract, a world that keeps playing without you, and a chair at home from which you watch it. The official guide that the Steam page links defines the mode on page 20 along those lines — you start without a club or national team and follow the game world — and the store page puts it in one line: “Spectator mode, in which you can follow the results of a club and/or national team.” This page walks the mode as the tutorial plays it: the empty start screen, job wishes, followed clubs, simulation, and the offer at the end. The Vereinslosigkeit screen: a manager with no club

First, the entry point. The start screen asks Wie möchten Sie spielen? and lays out six career cards — Weltmeisterschaft, Europameisterschaft, Vereinsgründung, Karriere, Vereinsauswahl and, rightmost, Zuschauermodus — above the Startland selection for your game world.

Pick Zuschauermodus from the six starting cards and the game allocates your four action points before landing on the Vereinslosigkeit screen. Left, an armchair illustration and the counter Tage ohne Verein: 0 — days without a club. Right, the only question that matters this week: “In welchen Ligen wollen Sie arbeiten?” Two empty dropdowns under the headings Wettbewerb and Verein wait beside the Liga hinzufügen and Verein hinzufügen buttons, and one note underneath explains the whole mode: “Klicken Sie rechts oben auf ‘Weiter’, wird die nächste Woche berechnet und Sie erhalten ggf. passende Angebote.”

The bottom half of the same screen carries the Extrawünsche and the Simulation/Zuschauermodus section — both explained below. On the left edge the game previews your odds: “Ihre Chancen mit den aktuellen Einstellungen: Damit sind Sie schnell wieder irgendwo unter Vertrag.” Narrow the demands, and that sentence grows more cautious.

Where you want to work: leagues, clubs and Extrawünsche

The league dropdowns take any country and any division the database knows. The tutorial starts realistic — Deutschland, 3. Liga — and then, in its own words, adds “daydreams that have nothing to do with reality”: Finland’s first division, then Japan’s first division, then a specific club typed into the Verein field (Urawa). Each entry appears as a row in the wish list on the right, and rows you regret can be deleted again — “we can then delete everything that bothers us”.

Below sit the five Extrawünsche, each with its own toggle: “Ein neues Land wäre schon.”, “Ich würde gerne eine Mannschaft vor dem Abstieg retten.”, “Ich wünsche mir ein investitionsfreudiges Präsidium.”, “Ein ruhiger Job, bei dem man etwas aufbauen kann, das wäre mal was.” and — in full — “Ich bin auch bereit, einen kleinen Verein zu übernehmen. Meldet euch einfach, ihr hoffnungslosen Fälle.” To their right, two steppers raise the bar: Minimales nationales Ansehen and Minimales internationales Ansehen, the reputation a prospective employer must have before it may call you. The video cranks the national value to 20 to show the trade-off: the more you demand, the longer the wait, because “your own skill level plays a big role”.

Following clubs and the national team

The Simulation/Zuschauermodus section at the bottom of the screen does two jobs. Its right half, Verein folgen and Nationalmannschaft folgen, turns the mode from blind fast-forward into a watched season: three dropdowns pick a club (country, league, club — the video follows Deutschland, 1. Liga, München) and one more picks a national team (Deutschland). The note under the buttons promises the payoff: “Klicken Sie auf ‘Start!’, wird mit den eingestellten Regeln bis zum gewünschten Datum simuliert. Folgen Sie Vereinen/Nationalmannschaften werden Sie über deren Ergebnisse informiert.” — league standings, news, newspapers.

Simulation: the waiting room with a target date

The left half of the section is the engine. The Zieldatum row (1 January 2027 by default) says how far the world should run in one go — the tutorial jokes about simulating ten seasons straight — and four checkboxes tune the ride: Tabellenbildschirm nach Spielen zeigen, Verlängerte Anzeigedauer von Ergebnissen und Tabellen, Zeitungen anzeigen and Vertragsangebote während Simulation, the last one deciding whether a club may offer you a job mid-simulation or only between runs. Press Start! and the screen switches to a status bar — “Noch 26 Wochen Simulation.” — with the week strip ticking over a stadium panorama. The video’s run advances six days, then stops.

When the simulation stops, you are back on the Vereinslosigkeit screen — the same armchair, the counter now at 6, the date at 12.07.2026. That is the loop of the whole mode: Weiter, simulate, check what arrived, adjust the wishes, repeat. Offers present themselves as fitting offers, “which we can then accept or not”; the run shown ends with the manager still unemployed and happily watching. When spectator mode is the right choice

Three starting cards hand you a club immediately — Karriere and Vereinsauswahl hand you one that exists, Club Creation one you built yourself. Spectator mode is the fourth way: no obligations, no sackings, a followed league as light entertainment, and a career that starts the day you feel like working. If you are new to the game, the mode doubles as a tutorial at world speed — a few simulated weeks of German third-division tables teach calendar, transfer rhythm and newspapers better than any menu tour, and by the time you accept that first offer, the screens of the career mode guide are familiar.
