Can you turn off private life in WE ARE FOOTBALL 2027?
Every manager in WE ARE FOOTBALL 2027 has a life off the pitch, and the game files it under Persönliches — the personal screen with five tabs: Sportliches, Karriere, Mitarbeiter, Privatleben and Familie. It is where popularity, your coach skills, the club’s shares, your villa, your health and your family live, and it feeds directly into the things boards actually judge you on, as the board expectations guide shows from the other side of the desk. This page walks all five tabs in the order of a 30-minute tutorial, with every number taken from the video. Not sure where this fits into a career? The career and game modes guide ranks the starting points.
Six popularity meters and a punishment dial
The Sportliches tab opens on six meters, each running 0 to 100: Präsidium (the board), Spieler, Mitarbeiter, Fans, Öffentlichkeit (the general public) and Verband (the association). Five of them are self-explanatory — unhappy players and staff, the video notes, will quit. The Verband value only carries meaning if you also manage the national team, and the video is explicit that the national-team job is treated as a side job on top of your club work, not a main post.
Below the portrait sits the Härte bei Strafen dial (50/100 in the tutorial save), the severity of the punishments you hand out. When you sanction a player, the game evaluates how hard you went, and its suggestions tend to recommend milder penalties — the presenter followed them all season, the team considered everything fair, and he still suddenly found himself rated a “hard 24”. Going the other way is a legitimate strategy with a cost: if you always crack down with heavy fines, you build a reputation that discourages stupid behaviour because nobody wants their wages eaten by fines — but the squad is shocked, the board doubts your sanity, and you are effectively running a dictatorship. Whether the dressing room still likes you afterwards is a question for the morale and satisfaction guide.
Career tab: hours, manager points and action points
The Karriere side of the Sportliches tab is your own profile: an experience bar that levels you up, your skills, your languages, your Fleiß (diligence) rating, your wage and your contract length — plus a photo you can insert yourself.

The Verein table tracks where your calendar hours go in a week — in the fresh save 28 hours are booked for training and 32 in total, while contracts, matches and employees sit at zero. These are calendar hours, not playing time: if you make a two-hour appointment with a sponsor, those two hours land in the plan. The Managerpunkte log books every point with date and reason (a win paid two points in the video), and the Aktionspunkte row is the currency of your week: a new save starts with 4 points as the basic allowance (“Grundausstattung”), events along the way add more, and the pool is capped at 50 — so once you get close to 50, spend some, because nothing new accumulates while you sit at the ceiling.
A small Nutzung dialog rounds out the tab with meta-statistics about you, the player: how long this save file has been open, your longest and shortest session, and a running count of how often you quit the game right after a defeat, a draw or even a win. The presenter’s count was still at zero; yours may not stay that honest.
The job market: board talks and potential suitors
The Präsidium panel offers Gespräch vereinbaren — arranging a meeting with the board — and the Vertrag panel lets you review your current contract as well as next year’s. The interesting door is Potenzielle Interessenten: the list of clubs currently eyeing you for their bench.

In the tutorial’s day-one save the list reads “Derzeit hat kein Verein Sie auf dem Zettel” — no club is interested yet. When interest does come, the right panel sells a Persönliche Präsentation for 10,000 € in three styles — Bescheiden (modest), Normal, or a self-assured variant — to improve your chances, and two declaration checkboxes let you signal that you would take over a small club in trouble, or that you are happy where you are and do not want calls. What a new job means for your backroom team is covered in the career record section below; the paperwork of your current deal lives in the contract negotiations guide.
Your network: flags, not limits
Netzwerk opens a web of international contacts with your club crest at the centre. The header explains the rule: the bigger a country’s flag, the faster you can scout players there. Flags grow through five levels, each visibly larger than the last.

The video’s warning is worth repeating: don’t let the boxes fool you. The presenter once assumed the visible slots around his German flag were a hard container — once full, no new countries. His later save had full-level flags plus connections in countries that were not even pictured. The web is a graphical overview of where you are known, not a cap on where you can go, and it feeds directly into the transfer market guide when you start hunting players abroad.
Buying into the club: the Börsengang
If you have private money, Finanzen → Börsengang lets you become more than an employee. The screen values the tutorial club at 40.5 million €, with 49 per cent still in club hands and a price of 613,000 € per one-per-cent stake — the video’s manager arrived recently, so a 51 per cent surcharge on market value applies. Selling carries a 3 per cent fee. You can also donate money to the club for transfers or the budget.

The two right-hand gauges explain why you cannot do this on day one of a real career: the IPO process requires the management to have been in office at least two years, and the members — currently against a sale — must approve it with a two-thirds majority. The video sketches where the mechanic leads: buy a few per cent with 5 million, push the club up the leagues, sell a single per cent for more than the whole purchase cost, reinvest in players, repeat until the Champions League pays out — his experiment in the predecessor ended with 120 million and a sixth-division English club bought outright. Buy the whole club, turn off layoffs in the options, and you are an owner-manager who can no longer be sacked, free to play by the finances and wage budget guide with your own money.
Coach skills: six slots, negative traits, prerequisites
Your coach levels up like a player and learns abilities on the Fähigkeiten tree — with a hard limit of six skills, plus one starting ability you get for free (motivation, in the tutorial, which the presenter was happy to keep).

The video’s save carries a negative ability: “Spieler besser machen” at a −5 % effect, which means his players develop more slowly than normal. The catch is that this weakness also blocks the positive version of the trait from being learned, even with the level available. The good news: a negative ability can be removed at any level — no filling rows of prerequisites, click, confirm, and it is gone. Everything else on the tree hangs on nodes: improving players requires the negotiation skill learned on the path towards it, and some targets are only reachable from one side of the web, so a careless pick can wall off a plan. Skills arrive through events too — the presenter recounts once leaving a Greece trip with a seventh skill taught by an old coach (“Rehakles”, he thinks) after already having six; he suspects that was a bug and does not promise it still works, so treat it as trivia, not strategy. Your staff plan their skills exactly the same way, which is why the staff and HR guide matters when you hire.
Career record and moving day: taking your staff with you
The Karriere tab is the archive of your coaching life: the Karriereübersicht lists every club with dates, league finish, national cup run, international competition and the W/D/L record; Ihre Titelgewinne collects titles; Vereine (Ligaspiele) sums your per-club totals with a points average rather than season-by-season rows; and Teuerste Käufe and Teuerste Verkäufe remember your record signings and sales.

The moving mechanism sits right next to it: if your staff like you and are good, you can ask them to transfer with you. At a big, rich club they will all come, the incumbent staff are laid off, and you continue with your trusted team — a genuine advantage, since you skip the rebuild. The reverse is just as real: a small club cannot pay a large coaching staff, so you must release your people before accepting such a job. The video also shows the failure case — staff who followed him once got no raise, their opinion of him dropped, interest cooled and the connection dissolved on its own.
The manager’s villa: three million of pure prestige
Private life begins with housing. You start in a rented apartment, but the Clubgelände lets you build your own Manageranwesen on the club’s grounds — somewhere with a road connection, the video suggests, so you can drive in and out.

The build panel is refreshingly honest about the point of all this: “Nur repräsentative Funktion” — the villa serves a purely representative function. It costs 3 million € of your private assets (137 days of construction in the shot), and the same menu sells garages, fountains, entrance gates, garden ponds, walkways and guest houses, all equally useless and all yours. A sign at the property takes a name, property details and a warning text of your choosing. Landscape design around the plot also exists; the presenter admits he has never touched it, so the video does not demonstrate what it does.
Health, workload and the weekly planner
The Privatleben tab watches your health. At full energy nothing is cancelled; run yourself into the ground for weeks and the numbers drop — appointments get cancelled due to illness, you catch colds, and the video paints the nightmare scenario plainly: a negotiation collapses because you are in hospital and cannot react.

The instrument for staying healthy is the Wochenbelastung, the weekly workload chart also visible on the Sportliches tab: keep the week out of the red zone, and use green stretches to recover after a hard spell. The Terminplaner is where you plan it.

Exercise is the quiet optimiser here. A Sport treiben card books two hours, and the game explicitly does not count personal sport and parties as working time — up to two sessions per week lower your workload, and the planner’s footer books the discount visibly: 29 of 44 hours planned, “-3 durch Sport”. One session credits two hours, a second session adds less, so the video’s advice is simple: schedule one sport session every week, two if you can. The same planner hosts Sprache lernen (book a two-hour appointment or let it run automatically once or twice a week), Weiterbildung — a weekly dice roll worth zero to five points towards your coaching level, doubled if you book two courses — and Party organisieren, which softens your next conversations with the board. Speak a language and clubs from that country start calling; learn something exotic and you will get offers from its leagues, albeit poorly paid ones, which is why the video recommends the world languages first. If fans like you enough, a fan club forms around you and can be visited.
The trophy room
Persönliche Auszeichnungen opens a small 3D room of your own — in the villa or, before that, in the rented flat — where your achievements go on display: trophies for developing players, for keeping the squad fit, for a maxed-out network or a country levelled to the top, and less glorious ones, the video counting “500 league defeats” among the available honours.

The room starts as empty as the one in the shot. Fill it over a career.
Lucky charms: the game admits it is psychology
Up in the Privatleben tab, Glücksbringer oder Ritual auswählen offers a list of superstitions: sleeping in the youth team’s shorts, a lucky penny, a special tie, not changing your sweater or your underwear until a defeat. The game’s own panel text is unusually frank — charms and rituals have “nur eine psychologische Wirkung” and do not really influence results; choosing one is a personal decision of the trainer. The presenter still picks “last into the stadium” because it feels right, and notes one practical wrinkle: if you refuse haircuts until the next defeat, do not be surprised when the press asks about it. Whether switching hotels after a loss doubles your hotel bill, he leaves open — the video does not demonstrate it.
Family: partner, pets and future stars
The Familie tab is the last stop. Lebenspartner suchen takes three answers — no, it would be fine, yes — and a preference for male, female or both; the video’s save shows Geschlecht set to “Beide”. Family members’ wishes can be auto-answered (always yes, always no) or left for you to decide one by one. Pets are available, including a horse, and they can die of old age, which the presenter warns is sadder than it sounds; they can also be given away and replaced.

Children can be introduced to football: at a men’s club your sons can join your own youth setup, at a women’s club your daughters, and either can be trained towards stardom — the youth camps guide covers what such a setup can do. Your partner may become a fan of any club you have ever coached. The tab carries its own disclaimer, worth quoting because it is funny: all events in this area are purely random and are not prophecies about real people calculated with state-of-the-art methods. Family events deliberately stay out of the weekly schedule and live in this tab only, controlled by a toggle.
And if you hate all of it: switch it off
The video closes the tour with the sentence this page needs to end on: you can always switch private life off. You do not have to play the family side, the villa, or any of it — the systems wait politely either way. Treat them as flavour to layer onto the parts of the game you actually enjoy, and when the weekend arrives, the beginner guide takes you back to the pitch where the points are actually decided.
